Encouraging your child to learn to swim is one of most important opportunities you can give them.
If you get children interested in swimming when they're young as there is a good chance they will enjoy the water for the rest of their life.
Benefits of our Programme
We are proud to be working in partnership with Scottish Swimming.
Swimming provides the opportunity to learn a life skill whilst interacting and having fun in a group environment. This should be no different for a child with a disability and where possible your child will be included in a class with their peers.
What should you expect from our swimming lesson programme?
All children should be having fun! The should be involved in games-based activities to help them learn skills such as breathing, submerging and moving in the water. Swimming strokes will be introduced gradually once a child has learned the core aquatic skills.
Ask your local leisure centre Aquatics Advisor about swimming lessons for your child. Click here for contact telephone numbers.
This programme is designed to introduce you and your child to the water in a fun way making it exciting and enjoyable for you both. It will provide you as a parent with confidence and skills to help teach your child to swim.
The programme provides a fun, progressive and all-inclusive pathway for children to participate in any aquatic discipline to whatever level they aspire to.
Did you miss out on learning to swim as a child, or never really got the opportunity to swim when you were younger? It’s never too late to learn!
